Outpatients experience the unique architecture at the Isar Heart Center

Behind the magnificent glass facade of the building located at Sonnenstrasse, close to the Sendlinger-Tor, the friendly reception area of the Isar Medical Center in the historical Bürklein Building welcomes you to the Isar Heart Center with open arms. Historical architecture in harmony with cutting-edge technology creates an atmosphere that lets you forget you are in a medical facility. Our service staff will show you around our facilities. The architecture of our facilities supports an important goal: the completion of diagnostics and therapeutic measures in the shortest possible time. The short distances and clear-cut structures of our organization mean there is no hectic pace. If examinations are necessary beyond mere inquiries concerning cardiac matters, our service staff will organize follow-up appointments in the shortest time possible. Our close network and modern interior architecture concept guarantee this.

At the Isar Heart Center on the third floor of the Ärztehaus, Ms. Daniela Lutz and Ms. Anja Beste from our front office greet you at the reception desk and accompany you to our patient lounges. Our waiting rooms and lounges are quiet areas, and we respect your privacy. We take time for every single patient. However, if there is a long waiting time despite careful planning, there are refreshments, coffee and a first class assortment of print media available in our lounges.

Consultation Rooms

All of the physicians at the Isar Heart Center have individual, modern consultation rooms. In a personal and peaceful atmosphere, we take time for comprehensive patient consultations. Modern computer technology is also integrated inconspicuously into these rooms. This helps us to explain diagnostics and treatment procedures to you from the beginning in the best possible way and to illustrate for you the examination results.

Examination Rooms / Diagnostics Laboratories

Following an extensive consultation, a staff member will accompany you to our diagnostics laboratories, which are located only a few meters from our consultation rooms. This is where the technical examinations take place. When all of the examinations have been completed, you are welcome to refresh yourself in one of our lounges. Afterwards, our physicians are ready to see you in their consultation rooms to discuss the examination results with you, and, if necessary, to discuss further steps.

  • Echocardiography (3D)
  • Duplex-Sonography
  • ECG/Holter ECG
  • Stress tests
  • Pacemaker outpatient care
  • Pulmonary function tests

At the Isar Medical Center, there are no borders between cardiology and radiology. Experts working in both disciplines perform the examination together.

In preparation, the cardiologists and radiologists discuss with the attending physician the best possible diagnostic strategy. As all of the relevant imaging methods are available at the Isar Heart Center, the respective problem can be examined with the most gentle and informative method.

The medical expertise and close collaboration are supported by state-of-the-art technology: a 128-slice computed tomography scanner is available to evaluate coronary blood vessels without having to use an intracardiac catheter. Calcification and constriction in the coronary arteries can therefore be evaluated in a gentle manner and with low levels of radiation.

To supplement conventional examination methods, our medical specialists also operate high-end MRT systems to examine the heart without any radiation. Experienced cardiologists under the direction of PD Klaus Tiemann, M.D., work in close cooperation with their radiology colleagues to reach a diagnosis with cardiac MR examinations.
